Yesterday, I received the sheet of paper from Hannah's principal that asks for my input in regards to which teacher Hannah should be placed with next year. These questionaires are not new to me because I filled one out for Abigale every year she was in elementary school. What was new, was the kid. Abigale was always so easy to explain, "Good kid, solid academically, cares about other's feelings, can be overly sensitive, thrives in a sturctured environment." Easy, right?
Wrong! Hannah cannot be "summed up" that easily. When I was finished trying to explain my "exceptional" child, even I thought I sounded more like a child psychologist than a mom. But, I'm telling you, this kid is tricky. One of the funnier things I said was that she was "capable of comprehending complex scenarios." What??? :)
Anyways, I hope my little woman gets a 1st grade teacher that gives her the structure she needs balanced with the flexibility to work at her own pace (usually a faster pace) and be creative. This woman (or man...) will basically need to be Mary Poppins or she is in for it.
